The following text is transcribed from the Journal.
Contrary to popular belief, a goblin is as smart as any other species. It was Bandos that instilled within them the notion that intelligence was a sin, and demonstrating your education was something to be discouraged. As a result, goblins often go out of their way to make themselves seem less intelligent than they really are.
Hence "swingslash", the name given to this 斧 because of how it swings through the air, slashing anything it hits. It's so reductive and silly, it can only be an overcorrection, a desperate attempt by the creator to seem dumber than they are.
You can ignore, therefore the curve of the blade and the sharpness of the edge, created by carefully thought-out techniques that make the 武器 deadlier than those before them. The name, chosen by the blacksmith, so none might accuse them of the crime of being smart.
