This sentient plant is a version of the Wild Jade Vine, Rather than using water for sustenance, they use heat burning any prey they can capture for energy.

This offshoot of the wild jade vine has been mutated by the power of the Lens and the terrible Scorching sun. Whereas most vines require water, the ruby vine requires heat. Their chlorophyl has been replaced with embers and their stalks and stems burn internally, creating an incinerator that they use to ignite their prey. Fuzan thinks they’re pretty, and makes sure to cultivate them all over the desert.
