钓鱼 is a 技能 that 发布 on 21 April 2026 alongside the 0.11.1 update and is Dragonwilds' eleventh 技能. While originally meant to be coupled with the release of Dowdun Reach, Jagex had confirmed to hold back on releasing the 技能 to fine-tune it more with the increased 技能 cap of 99.
To train this 技能, players must use 钓鱼-related tools (such as nets or 钓鱼 rods and bait) to catch 鱼 in rivers and lakes. 鱼 can be used for 烹饪, 制造, or to just "show off with base trophies". 魔法 can also be used to interact with the 钓鱼 技能 in some way. [1]
To begin training this 技能, players must first make their first coarse net and start the Shrimp Catcher 任务.

Mechanics
To train this 技能, players must use the corresponding tools with their respective 钓鱼 Spots. Nets can only be used in Net 钓鱼 Spots and 钓鱼 rods (with bait) only work on Rod 钓鱼 Spots.
Net 钓鱼
Stand within the range of your chosen net 钓鱼 spot while having your chosen net equipped. Use the Trawl action button (default: LMB) and begin to catch 鱼 or junk (like 石头 or Weeds). Unlike rod 钓鱼, trawling only works within the range of a non-depleted 钓鱼 spot and nets can be used in any region, regardless of 材料, to catch 鱼.
If you attempt to 鱼 in a depleted 钓鱼 spot, a notification will pop up informing you that there are no 鱼 here.
Note: Each trawl will use up about 10 stamina.
Rod 钓鱼
Unlike with net 钓鱼, you must be a certain distance away from the 钓鱼 spot. Equip your 钓鱼 rod (and bait) and use the Cast action button (default: LMB) to cast your line towards the rod 钓鱼 spot. If you hold the button down longer, you will build up 力量 to cast your line out further. Should your casting 力量 be either too weak or strong, you will miss and be prompted to try again. Once you have successfully casted your line, wait a moment to get a bite from the 鱼. If you aren't wielding any bait, the chance to catch junk is more likely to happen than catching actual 鱼.
If you manage to get a biting 鱼, you will need to tire it out before reeling it in. Use the Strafe Left/Right buttons (default: A/D) to pull the 鱼 in the opposite direction. This will cause the 鱼 to lose a greater amount of stamina and become easier to reel in. To reel in the 鱼, it is same button as the Cast action. Should you not tire out the 鱼 and reel it in anyways, it will consume a greater amount of stamina and, eventually, escape.
Note: For best 钓鱼 effectiveness, it is recommended to equip the region-specific 钓鱼 rod and accompanying bait.

Boosts
All of the following 护甲 and 食物 Perks:
- Angler's Hat - Provides a 10% chance to not deplete a 钓鱼 node when catching a 鱼 - unlocked at 70 钓鱼.
- 魔法 护甲 in the chest slot - Lowers the Stamina regen delay by 50%, increasing how quickly Stamina returns when running between 钓鱼 nodes.
- Leggings of Lightness - Provides 50 additional carry 重量 (Raw Giant Krill alone weigh 2.9 each).
- Inspiring 戒指 of 钓鱼 - Provides an additional 5% 经验 gain while worn.
- Knowledgable Nourishment - Provides an additional 10% 经验 gain while active.
- Skills Necklace - Chance to get bonus resources when 采集.
One of the following 药剂 Perks:
- Weak Focused 钓鱼 from Weak Focused 钓鱼 药剂 - Provides an additional 15% 经验 gain for 300s.
- Lesser Focused 钓鱼 from Lesser Focused 钓鱼 药剂 - Provides an additional 15% 经验 gain for 600s.
- Focused 钓鱼 from Focused 钓鱼 药剂 - Provides an additional 30% 经验 gain for 300s.
Levelling
See 经验 for a table of the 经验 required to reach each level.
Levelling up 钓鱼 grants access to both passive benefits as well as unlocking Spells and other abilities.

- ↑ For all of the 鱼 caught with a 钓鱼 rod, the listed XP is the base XP awarded for catching a 鱼. While reeling, two sets of 3 XP will also be earned, but when casting Fishnado, a base amount of 20 XP is awarded for casting the 法术 and then XP for each 鱼 pulled out as well. 钓鱼 Frenzy doubles the amount of 鱼, but has no effect on the XP awarded. This requires further testing, but rain may also double XP awarded, but perhaps only for the 鱼 in Ghornfell. XP boosts will increase all of these sources except for the base amount from Fishnado.
- ↑ Most likely due to a bug, Pristine Lobster do not provide any 钓鱼 XP when caught.
