With a distinct aroma, 皮革 护甲 became very popular with warriors and hunters, as well as a few villagers, but that’s another story. 皮革, when properly layered and cured, can turn away both the claws of a beast and the blades of an assailant.
It takes time and 技能 to craft 皮革 护甲. The 材料 needs to be cured, cut, shaped and then stitched together with a 材料 more durable than simple thread. It can be stiff to move in and surprisingly heavy, something young villagers would discover on their earliest hunts.
Young hunters would be gifted 皮革 护甲 by their family as a sign of adulthood. Good-quality 皮革 护甲 showed great pride in one's progeny. Many villagers would compete with one another to gift increasingly elaborate 护甲 — as if doing so confirmed to all others that their child was special.
