远程 is one of the eleven Skills in Runescape: Dragonwilds, is one of the three 战斗 styles, and was 发布 in 0.9. Fighting Monsters using 远程 战斗 levels a player's 远程 to gain various bonuses that enhance their effectiveness with the 技能.

Players use 远程 Weapons in 战斗 to earn 远程 经验. The higher the tier of the weapons and ammo used, the higher the base damage and, thus, the more 经验 earned.

In addition, players can gain 经验 from 远程 技能 Tomes and special reward tomes like the Tome of the 龙族 杀戮.

Equipment

Weapons

远程 Weapons can be divided into three major classifications:

  • Longbows require Arrows and must be drawn while aiming, providing players with an advantage in long-range 战斗. Fully drawing the 弓 takes more time than shortbows but provides higher base damage and an additional damage bonus. Attacking without aiming will instead use a Melee-based 攻击 to push away close enemies.
  • Shortbows require Arrows and can be drawn without aiming, allowing players to release arrows in close 战斗 quickly. Shortbows have lower base damage than their longbow counterparts but have an increased firing rate.
  • Crossbows require Bolts, are optimal at short distances, and fire quicker than shortbows. They are also a one-handed 远程 武器, allowing players to utilise Shields to Parry.

Ammunition

护甲

远程 护甲 provides a base defensive stat but also provides a stacking passive bonus, the more of the same 战斗 类型 (i.e., melee, 远程, mage) you equip. Players can mix and match within that 类型. For example, a player wearing a Ranger Hat (远程), Green Dragonhide 胸甲 (远程), and White Platelegs (melee) will get the second tier of 远程 set bonuses and the first tier of melee set bonuses. The 远程 护甲 set bonuses are:

  • 1/3 -40% Stealth speed
  • 2/3 -33% 远程 攻击 stamina cost
  • 3/3 +25% Weak point damage

Boosts

Players can consume Potions, eat 食物, or equip Trinkets to increase 远程 经验 or increase damage and, indirectly, the 经验.

经验 mechanics

Players who deal regular damage will receive 0.25×damage dealt 经验 depending on the maximum health of the enemy. Players who deal critical damage will receive 0.5×damage dealt 经验, depending on the maximum health of the enemy. For example, if a player deals 88 regular damage to a chicken, the player will only receive 5 远程 经验, since the maximum health of the chicken is 20 生命值 (20 生命值 x .25 经验 factor = 5 经验).

Levelling

See 经验 for a table of the 经验 required to reach each level.

Levelling 远程 grants access to both passive benefits as well as unlocking Spells and other abilities.

3 Quick Action Passive Perform Quick Actions with 远程 weapons using the 主要 Action button.
5 Archery Target 配方 Build an Archery Target to practice your 远程 accuracy against. Shoot the bullseye for a surprise!
8 Trick Shot Passive After firing a fully drawn arrow, release follow-up shots at the right time for increased damage!
12 Snare 法术 Conjure Earth 魔法 at your feet and lay a trap for your enemies! Those caught inside become rooted in place for a short time.
15 Toxic Behaviour 配方 Unlocks the 配方 for 武器 Poison, which can be used to imbue Melee weapons with Poison or to craft Poisonous Arrows.
18 狩猎's Sense Passive Crouch for a short time to activate your 狩猎's Sense, allowing you to sense nearby creatures and enemies.
22 Make 'Em Bleed 配方 Unlocks the 配方 for 武器 Barbs, which can be used to imbue Melee weapons with Bleed or to craft Barbed Arrows.
25 Spectral Arrows 法术 Enchant your equipped 弓 with astral 魔法, causing arrows to penetrate multiple targets.
30 Crossbow Trick Shot Passive Trick Shot now applies to crossbow weapons. Fire at the right time to instantly finish reloading and ready your next shot!
35 Enchanted Crossbow Bolts 配方 Unlocks the ability to craft Enchanted Crossbow Bolts. Enchanted bolts have a chance of triggering unique magical effects when fired!
40 Venomous Trapper Passive/法术 The Snare Trap now triggers a cloud of poison when activated, causing enemies stuck inside it to become poisoned over time.
45 Fire Starter 配方 Unlocks the Fire Oil and Fire arrows Recipes, giving you new ways to burn your enemies to ash!
99 远程 Skillcape 配方 Unlocks the ability to wear and create the 远程 Skillcape and its trimmed variant at the 制造 Table.

  • The maximum level increased from 50 to 99. update 11 September 2025 (0.9):

  • The 远程 技能 has been 发布 to the live game.

  • 远程 projectiles should be displayed correctly.

花絮

  • Before the 0.9 update, this 技能 did not have a 技能 tree. While there did exist 远程 weapons, the only way to level up this 技能 was by finding 技能 tomes.
  • This is similar to the 魔法 技能 prior the 0.8 update.
